🌍 What is the Discover Feed and How is Content Shown?

It’s not just a feed — it’s a window into the world’s present moment.

The Discover Feed is where the magic of Currently unfolds — a dynamic, real-time stream of moments happening around the world or near you, shared by people who are living life right now.

🔍 What is the Discover Feed?

The Discover Feed is a curated space inside the Currently app where you can:

  • See live moments shared by people (beyond just your followers)

  • Explore activities, places, and moods happening right now

  • Discover authentic content that’s unfiltered, time-bound, and real

Whether it’s someone playing music in a street corner café or attending a startup pitch in another city — if it’s happening now and it’s interesting, it can show up in Discover.

🎯 How is Content Shown in the Discover Feed?

Moments in the Discover Feed are ranked and displayed based on a real-time visibility system called C-Rank (Currently Rank) — a mix of factors that highlight the most engaging, timely, and authentic content.

Here’s how it works:

⭐ 1. Content Quality

  • Real, clear, and relevant photos/videos or well-selected activities

  • Meaningful captions and complete moments

  • Originality and effort matter — not perfection

🧠 2. User Reputation

  • Users with consistent, real posts earn stronger visibility

  • Good behavior (no spamming, respectful interactions) boosts trust

  • Verified users or popular contributors may get more reach

🚀 3. Engagement Velocity

  • How quickly your moment gets views, reactions, comments, or tags

  • High interaction soon after posting = greater Discover push

⏰ 4. Recency

  • Newer moments are prioritized — because Discover is built for now

  • As moments age (and their timer runs out), they fade from Discover

📍 5. Location & Relevance

  • Users near you are more likely to see your moments

  • Certain trending places or activities may get higher visibility

⚡ Quick Tip to Get Discovered:

To increase your chances of appearing in the Discover Feed:

  • Post authentic moments (no fakes, no gallery uploads)

  • Add a photo or activity, tag your location, and use a caption

  • Keep it fresh and engaging — the more real, the better

  • Be consistent, not spammy

🔒 Is Everything I Post Shown in Discover?

Not necessarily. Your moment must meet a minimum quality threshold to enter Discover.

Moments that:

  • Lack context (e.g., blank screen, no activity, or unclear visuals)

  • Appear spammy or irrelevant

  • Violate community guidelines

...will not be promoted to Discover.

You’re always visible to your followers and subscribers, but Discover is reserved for the best “right now” moments happening on Currently.

💬 Why It Matters

Discover is where strangers become connections,
small moments get celebrated, and
real-time stories unfold.

It’s where you get noticed for being real — not being viral.
